Rockton River Market
The Rockton River Market opened this past Wednesday, May 8th with only 3 vendors signed up. We have plenty of interested vendors whom have requested their applications with a “I’ll see you there!” As in any Market situation, May is always considered a Pre-Sale period as much produce is just not yet available, as the growing seasoning is just beginning. The beginning of most markets include starter plants, plants or shrubs, crafters of all kinds, and even antiques in some cases. Rockton River Market is no different, and we are welcoming vendors of all kinds to help make this market a wonderful experience for the community.
The planting time is a busy time for those who will bring produce amongst other goods; and the crafters are busily rebuilding their inventory in the making of new items for the will be customers. Take time to come a support the pioneers of the Pre-Sales season of the Rockton River Market as more come to, and will join us over the next few months. See you there!
Wednesdays, from 3 to 8pm
at Old Settler’s Park,
on E. Hawick Street, Rockton, IL
This year our market is partnered with the Village of Rockton, and Farm & Fleet of Rockton. Each has contributed to the success of the market in ways that will bring more people to the park, and the market. The Rockton Village will be having a “Music in the Park” program that will begin on June 19th at the Old Settler’s Park and feels this will couple nicely with the River Market. While Farm & Fleet has offered their parking lot for the weeks of June 5 & 12 to host the market while the OSD days are going on. at Settler’s Park.
This year the chamber has taken deeper initiative to become partnered with the Illinois Department of Agriculture and is a qualified Illinois Fresh Market. This means you can be sure your produce is grown locally and not purchased from another state. Look for this logo.
We have also listed the River Market in the Illinois Harvest website http://www.localharvest.org/
