Join us for our first annual lobbying day in Springfield. Participating in the Rockton Chamber/Winnebago County Lobbying Day in Springfield, on April 25th, is a great way to get involved in government and the betterment of our communities, and to learn about issues facing Illinois. We will begin with a briefing for participants who ride the bus. We arrive at the Illinois Municipal League at 10:00am-11:30am, followed by lunch. The remainder of the day is dedicated to Capital office visits, during which we may split into teams and visit with as many members of the state legislature as possible.

No trip to Springfield will be complete without a short visit to the tomb of the nation’s 16th President–Abraham Lincoln. We will take a brief trip to the tomb before departing for home. Feel free to bring your cameras.

RSVP in advance by Monday, April 23rd whether riding the bus or driving individually. For those riding the bus, there is a $45 fee which goes directly for transportation costs. Pick up for the bus is at 5:00am from the Rockton Chamber of Commerce office, 330 E Main Street, Suite 700, Rockton. Plans are to return to the chamber office by 9:00pm. If need, we will make an additional stop for supper.

Contact Laura Baker, Executive Director of the Rockton Chamber of Commerce to register at (815) 624-7625.
